Melajoom Foundation Inaugurates New Headquarters, Expands Charitable Impact in Ondo State

The Melajoom Foundation reached a significant milestone on Thursday with the grand inauguration of its new headquarters in Owo, Ondo State. The event brought together government officials, traditional rulers, and philanthropists to celebrate the foundation’s enduring legacy of transforming lives through education, empowerment, and community development.

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, praised the foundation’s dedication to uplifting lives. He emphasized the Ondo State government’s readiness to partner with reputable non-profits like Melajoom to improve the quality of life across the region.

“Melajoom Foundation has set a remarkable example of impactful charity work, not just in Owo but throughout Ondo State. The vision and commitment of its founder, Jimi Adetula, are inspiring and leave an enduring legacy for generations to come,” the governor remarked.

A New Era of Purposeful Giving

In his keynote speech, Jimi Adetula, Founder and Chairman of the Melajoom Foundation, reflected on the journey of the organization since its inception 25 years ago. He shared his excitement about the new headquarters, which will serve as a hub to coordinate the foundation’s expanding programs and day-to-day activities.

“This year, my wife, Ellon, and I decided to deepen our impact by awarding scholarships to 200 deserving students,” Adetula announced. “Each tertiary student will receive ₦250,000, while secondary school students will receive ₦50,000. We are also prioritizing students pursuing agriculture-related courses and have committed to sponsoring 30 students from Technical College Owo to enhance their skills and address local challenges.”

Leaders Laud the Foundation’s Efforts

Traditional rulers present at the event lauded Adetula’s commitment to giving back to society. The Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, described the scholarships as a seed of hope for the future.

“What you are doing today will inspire these students to look back in the future and recognize your invaluable contributions to their success,” Oba Kiladejo said.

The Olowo of Owo, HRM Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin, also expressed gratitude to Adetula and the foundation for their dedication to community development.

“You have consistently shown that giving back to the communities that shaped us is vital. Your unwavering generosity over 25 years is commendable, and I encourage you to continue this noble mission,” the Olowo remarked.

The inauguration of the Melajoom Foundation House signifies a new chapter in the foundation’s mission to empower communities and transform lives. With a legacy spanning decades and a renewed commitment to education and skill development, the foundation is poised to continue its impactful journey.
